Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Estimator Team Lead to oversee MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) estimation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and project analysis for MEP services. You will play a key role in ensuring cost accuracy and efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Take-offs

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for all MEP services, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fire protection.
  • Utilize industry-standard software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in estimates.

2. Cost Estimation

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
  • Prepare cost comparison reports, identifying areas for potential savings.

3. Project Analysis

  • Review and analyze project specifications, architectural & engineering drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
  • Identify discrepancies or design issues that may impact cost estimates.

4. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure alignment on project requirements.
  • Participate in pre-bid and project meetings to understand project goals and constraints.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support cost estimates and facilitate decision-making.
  • Maintain an organized record of estimation activities for future reference and audits.

6. Market Research & Industry Updates

  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and technological advancements in MEP systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to gather up-to-date pricing and availability information.

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • 5 to 8 years of proven experience in MEP estimation or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or specialized MEP estimating tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
