About the role
:

The QA Lead will have complete responsibility for the testing lifecycle phases for the infrastructure platform projects. He/She will be responsible for ensuring quality testing deliverable for System and Integration Testing and oversight and coordination with User Acceptance Testing.

The QA Lead must have a strong background in software engineering, testing, and automation to drive the overall planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of projects within the organization. To expand, the selected resource must possess knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of test automation tools, experience with large-scale enterprise product, experience with relational databases, and management background.

Education :
B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, MCA, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities, Experience & Skillsets
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive test coverage for assigned modules or features, ensuring alignment with internal QA standards, client requirements, and end-to-end business workflows.
• Design, document, and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and QA artifacts with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and compliance with organizational QA practices.
• Perform hands-on testing while mentoring and guiding QA engineers to ensure thorough and efficient validation of functionality, usability, and performance.
• Collaborate with automation teams to enhance and maintain hybrid frameworks (Selenium, Appium, keyword-driven/data-driven), ensuring optimal regression coverage and testing efficiency.
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance testing accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across manual and automated testing efforts.
• Conduct impact analysis for new features and enhancements; perform regression testing across multiple platforms to ensure product stability and backward compatibility.
• Take end-to-end ownership of QA deliverables — from test planning and execution to final quality sign-off — ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality benchmarks.
• Monitor and report QA metrics, including test coverage, defect density, risk assessment, and release readiness to stakeholders and leadership.
• Participate actively in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production validation, ensuring client expectations and business workflows are accurately validated.
• Mentor, train, and upskill QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, ownership, and accountability within the team.
• Maintain traceability matrices, QA dashboards, and documentation to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, DevOps, and QA leadership) to resolve blockers, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth release cycles.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, ownership, and problem-solving abilities, managing risks, conflicts, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Stay current with the latest QA tools, processes, and methodologies, continuously evaluating and adopting new testing practices that enhance productivity and product quality.
• Work effectively in Agile and continuous delivery environments, ensuring alignment with sprint goals, test readiness, and release timelines.
• Showcase strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills to identify risks, articulate challenges, and propose solutions effectively.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12–15 years of relevant software testing experience in a top-tier enterprise or product-based company.
• Strong ability to understand the product end-to-end, both from a customer experience and technical architecture perspective.
• Proven experience leading and managing QA teams, including mentoring engineers, performance management, and hiring for excellence.
• Hands-on expertise in defining test strategies and detailed test plans, and ensuring their effective implementation.
• Advanced proficiency in defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, and similar).
• Deep analytical aptitude and experience handling complex, calculation-intensive functional testing scenarios.
• Expert knowledge of QA methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Testing practices.
• Hands-on automation experience with Selenium / Playwright with the ability to design and enhance test automation frameworks (keyword-driven, data-driven).
• Strong experience in debugging, root cause analysis, and maintaining test infrastructure for large, distributed systems.
• Skilled in defining, tracking, and reporting QA metrics/KPIs such as coverage, defect density, and quality trend analysis.
• Experience working in Agile / iterative SDLC environments with frequent releases and fast-paced delivery cycles.
• Basic understanding of any programming language (e.g., Java, Python, or TypeScript) for automation scripting and framework maintenance.
• Deep knowledge of integration, API, and UI testing using tools like Postman and UI-based testing utilities, including API response and data validation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to mentor QA engineers and provide technical direction on complex testing and automation challenges.
• Demonstrated track record of on-time, high-quality software delivery while driving process improvements and team efficiency.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, handle priorities, plan resources, and deliver within timelines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; able to interface confidently with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and leadership across Product, Development, and DevOps teams.
• Positive attitude, ownership mindset, and ability to adapt quickly to evolving project requirements

Good-to-Have Skills

• Domain Exposure: Hands-on experience or strong understanding of SaaS, CTRM/ETRM, or Metals domain solutions.
• Cloud-Native Testing: Experience testing applications deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Mobile Testing: Exposure to mobile application testing (manual and automation)
• AI & Test Intelligence: Awareness of Gen AI in QA and AI-driven testing tools (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Functionize) or experience integrating ML models for test optimization and prioritization.
• Shift-Left & DevOps Integration: Ability to embed testing early in the SDLC and integrate QA seamlessly within CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile at Scale: Experience working with enterprise Agile frameworks like Scrum of Scrums, SAFe,or Kanban for large-scale product delivery.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Skilled in managing outsourced QA and automation vendors, ensuring alignment with internal quality and delivery standards.
• Prior experience working in a product/software-based company is an advantage.
• Compliance & Security Audits: Experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits is a major advantage, along with knowledge of data privacy and security practices.
