Movement of import cargo from origin mainly by sea mode of transport
- Floating freight enquiry, quotation comparison, freight negociation with FF
- Continous follow up with Freight forwarders for shipment booking,cargo pickup,vessel schedule,ETD,ETA, freight certificates, final BL
- Coordinate with buyers for receipt of documents for clearance & handing over to CHA
- Coordinate with CHA to ensure smooth custom clearance of consignments once they arrive at the port
- Verifying & approving Bill of entry & Bill of Lading & handling all import documentation
- Continous follow up with CHA for movement of cargo from port to factory on time
- Verifying shipments bills received from FF & Clearance agent
- Coordinating with accounts team for custom duty payment, vendor payments
- Coordinating with Goods inward team for material receipts & BOE issues
- Resolving queries & any issues raised by Indian customs by finding out root cause
- Tracking shipments daily and keeping the shipment tracker up to date Preparing weekly Freight Charges report
- Keeping weekly record of demurrage charges
- Prepating weekly custom duty estimate report
- Updating HSN code file from time to time
- Preparing certificates required by customs, EPRA, CE Certificate, Duty Benefit certificate
- Working on overall logistics costs & taking measures to reduce cost to company
- Providing freight & custom duty calculations to requestee as and when they require
- Providing import data to export team for certifificate preparation from time to time
- Handling import of special cargo (FCL) such as capital equipment occasionally
- Managing all tasks related to Air/Courier shipments and ensure things to happen without delay and with proper follow ups.
