**About YRGCARE**
ACCELERATE, a USAID- funded HIV/AIDS program, aims at improving health outcomes among key populations in India. The ACCELERATE team provides technical assistance (TA) to National, State, and District HIV/AIDS programs to deliver comprehensive HIV prevention and treatment services to vulnerable populations including people living with HIV, key populations (KP) and their partners; and Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC). The effort is being led by Johns Hopkins University and includes other consortium partners including The Fenway Institute (TFI), YR Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education (YRGCARE) and Blue Lotus Advisory (BLA). It is anticipated that the project will be extended to work in Mumbai in near future.
**Job Summary**
- He/she has to work in close coordination with ARTC Medical Officer, Counsellor etc under the guidance of immediate supervisor
- Be a peer educator for PLHIV at and provide psycho-social support to newly registered PLHIV. Further, provide assistance to PLHIV enrolled at the ARTC.
- They will be attached to a specific ART Centres and will work closely with the Samgra team ensuring no duplication of services.
- Will provide index testing services to PLHIV taking ART in the facility focusing on contact elicitation and testing of the contacts
- Will support updating the migration history, information about latest phone number and address, NCD and mental health related support
- Will support in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for those who missed the visit to ARTC
- Keep track of drug adherence of patients on ARV, counselling them on the importance of regularity of visits and ARV dosage, Support in OI management
- Supplement the efforts of the ART counsellor of the centre in promoting positive living.
- Follow MIS/LFU cases on telephone, from “daily due list” as well.
- Support formation and management of Community Based ART Refill Groups, Conduct/Manage these groups by carrying out periodic meetings
- Refer any CLHIV who need to be enrolled in OVC program
- Support in VL monitoring activities - follow-up, facilitate scheduling appointment with the ART center
- Support the PLHIV to avail social welfare schemes, entitlements and other benefits from the local authorities
- Referrals for health services and other needs of the PLHIV registered under the programme
- Help PLHIV to address stigma and discrimination by the family members and the society
- Encourage the family members, spouse, children and sexual partners of PLHIV for HIV and TB testing
- Support activities under ACCELERATE project as assigned by Supervisor
- CSC/Vihaan feedback validation
- Support the Counsellor and Staff Nurse in HIV-TB & ARTC- CSC coordination activities and documentation at the ART centre.
- Support the ART centres to maintain data of patients under DSD models e.g. LACs at Prison, TI sites etc
**Other Requirements**
- S/he preferably be a PLHIV, with a minimum of secondary education level. S/he must also have basic working knowledge of English, Hindi and the local language.
- Well verse with local languages
- Well verse with geography
- Good communication skills
- Work experience in HIV program will be preferred
- Required to travel minimum 25 days in a month
