**Understanding instructional design**:
Instructional design is a systematic and creative process of developing effective and engaging instructional materials and experiences. It involves analyzing the needs of learners, defining clear learning objectives, designing instructional strategies, selecting appropriate media and technologies, and evaluating the effectiveness of the instruction. In simpler terms, instructional design is the art and science of creating educational materials and activities that help people learn and acquire new knowledge or skills.

**What an instructional designer does**:
An instructional designer creates educational materials and experiences to facilitate learning.

**Responsibilities**
- Research, chunk, & structure content across various domains, including school/college

education, software, and process training for industries like retail, financial, manufacturing,and service; soft skills training for various levels of employees.
- Implement design strategies across various modalities including scripting (case studies,

scenarios, and videos) visualizing content, and brainstorming design approaches.
- Maintain consistent quality by adhering to process and guidelines, meeting expectations.
- Incorporating review feedback and seeking clarifications, providing daily updates to

managers, conducting peer reviews for language and quality checks, and asking questionsto address content gaps and doubts.Skills
- Ability to read and review diverse disciplines, large volumes of content using skim/scan techniques, and to identify patterns and organize content in a logical structure and sequence.
- Command of the English language with advanced-level vocabulary and grammar, versatile reading comprehension abilities across diverse topics and domains, the capability to produce error-free written content at different levels of English complexity, and the skill to condense information and provide concise summaries without compromising the original

meaning.
- Attention to detail and compliance with standards and checklists for all deliverables.
- Openness to learning new processes, tools, and technology as required for new clients.Education and certifications:

- Any (Education/ Mass Communication/ English Literature/ Journalism/ Psychology/ Similar).
- Any experience and/or formal training in writing or design is highly desired.
- Any experience and/or certification in instructional design is a bonus.
- Knowledge of or experience with content authoring and/or web media creation tools is a bonus.
