Cut to Length Operator

Job Summary:
The CTL Operator (Cut-to-Length Operator) is responsible for operating machinery to accurately cut steel coils into specified lengths according to customer requirements in a steel service center environment. The operator must ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment, maintain quality standards, and meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate Cut-to-Length (CTL) machinery to cut steel coils to precise lengths according to job orders and specifications.
- Set up and adjust machine settings such as speed, blade clearance, and cutting dimensions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Monitor machinery during operation to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments as necessary to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
- Coordinate with other team members, such as material handlers and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production processes.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, scrap rates, and downtime, accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and regulations, including compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent education required; technical or vocational training in machine operation or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience operating Cut-to-Length (CTL) machinery or similar equipment in a manufacturing or steel service center environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Understanding of steel products and specifications, including thickness, width, and grade.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to perform calculations and measurements accurately.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects repeatedly.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling materials.
- Ability to work in a noisy and potentially hazardous environment, including exposure to moving machinery, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
