**Job Title: Press Brake Operator**

A Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal into various forms and sizes according to specifications. This includes setting up and programming the press brake, selecting and installing the appropriate tooling, and monitoring the production process to ensure quality and efficiency. The Press Brake Operator must also perform routine maintenance on the machines and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal based on blueprints, drawings, or job specifications.

2. Select and install the appropriate tooling, such as dies and punches, based on the required bend angles and dimensions.

3. Program the press brake using computer numerical control (CNC) systems or manual controls to input the bending sequence, angle, and depth.

4. Load and position sheet metal onto the press brake, ensuring proper alignment and clearance for bending.

5. Monitor the production process to ensure that parts are being formed accurately and according to specifications, making adjustments as needed.

6. Inspect finished parts for quality, including checking for proper dimensions, angles, and surface defects.

7. Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tooling or parts.

8. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that may arise during production, such as machine malfunctions or material inconsistencies.

9. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to lockout/tagout procedures.

10. Record production data, such as quantities produced, time taken, and any defects or issues encountered, for reporting and analysis purposes.

**Qualifications**:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role for 3 years minimum, operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication environment.

3. Knowledge of press brake machine operation, tooling, and programming, including CNC systems.

4. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications to accurately set up and operate press brake machines.

5. Strong mathematical skills, including measurement, calculation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.

7. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues or problems during production.

8. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

9. Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to press brake machine operation, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements.

10. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
