**Job Description - OT Incharge**

**Position Overview**

The OT Incharge is responsible for the effective management and smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre in a mother and child care hospital. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and coordinating surgical procedures for optimal patient outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**1. **Operational Management**
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the OT.
- Schedule and coordinate surgeries in collaboration with surgeons, anesthetists, and other departments.
- Ensure proper allocation of OT rooms and staff for efficiency.

2. **Staff Supervision and Leadership**
- Lead and manage a team of nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage staff availability.
- Conduct regular training and skill development sessions for OT staff.

3. **Patient Care and Safety**
- Ensure the highest level of patient care and safety standards are maintained.
- Monitor infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment.
- Supervise patient preparation for surgery and postoperative care protocols.

4. **Equipment and Supplies Management**
- Ensure the availability and functionality of OT equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate with the biomedical engineering team for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Monitor inventory of surgical instruments, medications, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.

5. **Compliance and Documentation**
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, medical standards, and legal regulations.
- Ensure accurate documentation of surgical procedures, patient records, and staff activities.
- Prepare regular reports on OT performance, incidents, and improvements.

6. **Emergency Response**
- Handle emergency situations effectively by mobilizing the OT team.
- Ensure quick availability of OT facilities for emergency cases.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Education**: B.Sc. Nursing or GNM; additional qualifications in OT management are preferred.
- **Experience**: 5+ years of experience in an OT setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in managing surgical schedules and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
