**Job Summary**:
The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement department in sourcing, ordering, and managing the supply of goods and services required by the organization. The role involves assisting with vendor management, preparing purchase orders, maintaining records, tracking deliveries, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the daily operations of the purchasing department.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for price, quality, service, and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Follow up with vendors to confirm orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery.
- Support inventory control by coordinating with stores/warehouse teams.
- Compare quotations and assist in negotiations to secure cost-effective deals.
- Resolve order discrepancies, delays, or quality issues with suppliers.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports and maintaining databases.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in procurement, supply chain, or administrative support is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Work Environment**:
- Office-based role with regular coordination with suppliers, finance, and warehouse teams.
- May require occasional travel to suppliers or project sites.
**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
