The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Who You Are

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech

Relevant Reperience: 6-8 years
- Administrating db2 database,on UNIX,LINUX,WINDOWS as per the requirement.
- Configuring and maintaining HADR (Primary ,Standby database) for production database for Take over, Fail over,activating the standby to primary for zero data loss.
- Performing Online,Offline backups as per customer request.
- Performing redirect restore of production db to development and Quality db's.
- For Database Maintainance utilities like Reorg,Runstat,Reorgchk,

Rebind.
- Performance statistics, managing performance behavior and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Export/import, Load utility to migrate data across schemas,tables.
- Performance tuning using db2advis and db2expln tools.
- Troubleshooting db performance related issues using MONREPORT module reports,taking Snapshot,db2diag,db2pd,db2top.
- Managing User privileges,roles at db level.
- Performing housekeeping of archive logs.
- Monitoring the Databases, tablespaces, and db2 db2diag logs for database errors using Tivoli tool.
- Troubleshooting db2 errors and contacting IBM PMR support for bug fixes.
- Manage the day to day activities during the shift that is allotted.
- Review the incident logging tool periodically to ensure that no incidents are left unassigned.
- Refer to the shift handover report of the previous shift to ensure all pending incidents are attended to and resolved.
- Ensure the problem description is precise and informative
- Drive the L1 engineers to incident closure. Ensure defined resolution SLA’s are met. Review open incidents periodically in every shift to ensure call closure.
- Resolve incidents that are about to breach SLA’s.
- Escalate or reassign incidents to respective resolve groups as and when required.
- In case the incident is repeated, log the incident as a problem ticket
- In case the resolution of an incident requires change, initiate the change management process.
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler
