Segment Architect

The Segment Architect for OSDU Migration leads the architecture delivery for the end-to-end integration of the systems targeted for Migration to OSDU, Planning and Delivery capabilities of the related systems. This Migration across the Subsurface and Wells (SSW) space would include all Legacy systems. It will also interface with products/platforms built on top of low code/no code based workflow tools to Data platforms which are industry standards like OSDU, MDM and home grown platforms.

The Segment Architect for OSDU Migration ensures the digital solutions have a coherent, clear and high-quality architectural design and implementation across the various digital solution components enabling successful delivery of business value propositions and subsequent scale-out. The resulting roadmaps and high-level designs have a measurable impact on the effectiveness and profitability of SSW and have a tangible result in decreasing delivery costs.

The focus in the forthcoming years will be on value driven architectures, building a strong ecosystem with IT partners and business stakeholders, translating specific business needs into tangible guidelines and roadmaps. It is crucial to have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, based on deep business and technology understanding.

**Where You Fit In**

The individual in this position will support the Business Lead Architects in the execution of architecture guidance, advisory and assurance activities for the Line of Business
- Subsurface & Wells.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Working closely with other architects (data and Solution), developers and deployment teams to provide architectural guidance and support them from an architecture perspective
- Development of Segment Architectures, Reference Architectures and resulting Roadmaps.

The individual has proven complex product knowledge and experience, ideally in the Data Platform(OSDU) delivery space, and understands how this needs to be translated into digital strategies and architectures. The resulting architecture guidance comes naturally and can be smoothly collaborated across stakeholders, including the business, IT, solution architecture, and the engineering teams.

**What is the Role?**

The Segment Architect for (O)SDU Migration has a strong combined business / technical background of implementing complex and robust enterprise-wide architectures and digital innovation solutions in the SSW space and will be expected to work the relationship angle as well as be the ‘lead designer’ and ‘coordinator’.
- Steering of a (virtual) team of Solution (and Data) Architects who are accountable to the Project / Product Manager / Scrum Master for the architecture of a solution being developed and implemented until the successful deployment of the solutions. Directly collaboration with the engineering teams as needed to assure visions are being translated to reality.
- Follow digital and IT developments in the market and leverage this knowledge in architecting digital solutions in SSW Delivery.
- Stay in touch with development of standards and standard services in IT, to ensure the latest service developments are considered.
- Pro-actively contribute to the development of the Architecture community and be an ambassador for Architecture. Interact with
- stakeholders on architecture issues and strategic improvements where such expertise is required.

**What We Need from You?**

Key Requirements:

- 15+ years in digital and IT with 5+ years of (business-focused) digital and IT leadership experience.
- Proven track record of digital and IT architecture impact and success, ideally with a focus on Cloud Platforms and As-is On-prem systems.
- Strong engineering background and history of bringing architectures to reality.
- Understanding and deep knowledge in Data Platforms, Cloud-Native Applications and AI/ML.

Key Skills:

- Hands on in cloud environment capabilities (Azure, aws etc) and microservice Architecture and Singke Page Application architecture, DevOps and DevSecOps and Automation frameworks and technologies.
- Agile and SaFe ways of working.
- Exposed to multiple design tools, Programming languages and Learners mindset.
- Stakeholder engagement is key to this role, in the broadest sense. Being sensitive to stakeholders, talking the right ‘language’ to specific target groups, and leading by example are crucial to the role.
