
Community Health Psychologist

Job Summary:
As a Community Health Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in promoting mental health and well-being within the community. Working in collaboration with various healthcare professionals, social workers, and community organizations, you will design and implement psychological interventions to address the unique needs of individuals and groups in the community. The primary focus of the role is to enhance mental health outcomes, prevent psychological distress, and contribute to the overall improvement of community health.
Qualifications:
- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Experience in community health or public health settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Able to speak and understand Kannada, Hindi and English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
**Responsibilities**:
1. **Assessment and Diagnosis**:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and groups to identify mental health needs, risk factors, and protective factors.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to integrate psychological assessments into overall health evaluations.
2. **Intervention Planning and Implementation**:
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to the needs of the community.
- Provide individual and group therapy, counseling, and psychoeducation to address various mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to health and well-being.
3. **Prevention and Education**:
- Design and deliver community-based programs to prevent mental health issues and promote psychological well-being.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns on mental health topics for community members, schools, and local organizations.
4. **Crisis Intervention**:
- Provide immediate psychological support and intervention during community crises or emergencies.
- Collaborate with emergency response teams to address the psychological impact of disasters or traumatic events.
5. **Collaboration and Networking**:
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, educators, and community leaders to create a comprehensive network of support for mental health services.
- Establish partnerships with local organizations to enhance the reach and impact of mental health initiatives.
6. **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and client progress.
- Generate reports on program outcomes, effectiveness, and community mental health trends.
7. **Advocacy**:
- Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to mental health services in the community.
**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
