Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Psychologist (with a Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology) to join our academic staff. In this dual role, you will both guide students through their Ph.D. coursework and provide psychological support, ensuring they thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an academic guide and mentor for Ph.D. students, assisting with course planning, research strategies, and academic challenges.
- Provide individual psychological counseling to Ph.D. students, helping them manage stress, work-life balance, and mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure that students receive comprehensive academic and psychological support.
- Develop and lead workshops on topics such as time management, overcoming writer's block, and dealing with imposter syndrome.
- Act as a liaison between students and faculty to help resolve academic or personal challenges.
- Create mental health programs tailored to the needs of Ph.D. students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or Educational Psychology preferred).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist.
- Experience in higher education, ideally with graduate or Ph.D. students.
- Proven ability to guide students through the academic rigor of a Ph.D. program.
- Strong counseling skills with a focus on academic stress and student well-being.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in developing mental health programs or initiatives in academic settings.
- Knowledge of the unique psychological challenges faced by Ph.D. students.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and create an inclusive, supportive academic environment.
