**Job description**
**Captain/Sr. Captain**
1. Guest Service:
- Welcome guests and ensure they receive prompt, courteous, and personalized service throughout their dining experience.
- Assist guests with menu selections, dietary restrictions, and special requests, providing recommendations as needed.
- Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and ensure resolutions to maintain guest satisfaction.
2. Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train food and beverage service staff, including servers, bussers, and hosts/hostesses.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient and smooth operation of service.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude at all times.
3. Order Coordination:
- Coordinate food and beverage orders with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery to guests.
- Monitor table turnover and manage reservations to optimize seating capacity and minimize wait times.
- Ensure accuracy in order taking, delivery, and billing processes to minimize errors and discrepancies.
4. Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation in dining areas, service stations, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of table setups, linens, glassware, and utensils to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
5. Sales and Upselling:
- Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to guests, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to increase sales and revenue.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate menu availability and out-of-stock items to guests and team members.
- Upsell additional food and beverage items, such as appetizers, desserts, and premium beverages, to enhance guest experience and maximize revenue.
6. Training and Development:
- Conduct ongoing training sessions for service staff to enhance product knowledge, service skills, and upselling techniques.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to improve performance and customer service standards.
- Identify training needs and recommend development opportunities to enhance team effectiveness.
7. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and licensing requirements.
- Monitor alcohol service and ensure responsible alcohol consumption practices in accordance with local laws and policies.
- Enforce policies and procedures related to cash handling, credit card transactions, and billing accuracy.
