Bakery Assistant

**Job Summary**:
The Bakery Assistant is responsible for supporting the bakery team in preparing, baking, and packaging a variety of baked goods. This role involves assisting with ingredient preparation, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bakery, and providing customer service. The Bakery Assistant works under the supervision of the Bakery Manager or Head Baker to ensure that all products meet the bakery’s quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Baking and Food Preparation**:

- Assist in the preparation of dough, batters, and fillings according to bakery recipes and standards.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately, following recipes and instructions from the head baker.
- Assist with baking, frosting, decorating, and packaging baked goods such as bread, cakes, pastries, cookies, and muffins.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection.
- **Customer Service**:

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information about bakery products, including ingredients, allergens, and pricing.
- Take customer orders, both in-person and over the phone, and ensure accurate processing.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with the packaging of bakery items for customers and ensure products are presented attractively.
- **Inventory and Stock Management**:

- Assist in managing inventory levels, including receiving and storing supplies.
- Ensure that ingredients and supplies are properly labeled, stored, and rotated according to food safety guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and packaging materials, and inform the bakery manager when reordering is necessary.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory checks and maintaining accurate records.
- **Cleanliness and Hygiene**:

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure that all surfaces, equipment, and tools are sanitized regularly according to health and safety standards.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly and maintain cleanliness in the bakery’s storage areas.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- **Support and Collaboration**:

- Work closely with the bakery team to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
- Assist in training new staff members on bakery procedures and standards.
- Provide support during busy periods, such as holidays and special events, to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.

**Key Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Culinary or baking courses are an advantage but not required.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients is an advantage.
- **Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and handling transactions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- **Other Requirements**:
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
