**J.P. Morgan’s Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai** was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm’s global equity research teams around the world. Since its inception GRC has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to over 100 and provides coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with JP Morgan’s equity research teams, the analysts and associates in GRC are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, economics, strategy, credit derivatives and indices.
- Job responsibilities_
- Working as part of the highly regarded US Interest Rates and Derivatives strategy team.
- Ideal for someone who ultimately seeks a career in fixed income markets in a prime location, and is willing to work hard to acquire markets knowledge and learn by coding.
- A key part of the role would be to help modernize Treasury futures, options, and SOFR options analytics (and more), in partnership with Rates Technology.
- By working with senior and junior Rates strategists on analytics that are crucial to the publication of research which is read by thousands of the firm’s clients, this role offers a chance to learn about a wide range of financial instruments and trading strategies within the Rates space
- Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills_
- Excellent quantitative skills, with a quant degree. But should also be able to communicate well, and have independent curiosity and drive
- Desire to learn about markets and specific financial instruments such as Treasury futures and options, in great depth
- Ability to program in Python, ability to look at legacy C++ code and build modern prototypes in Python
- Collaboration skills, to partner with Tech and modernize the analytics code base
- Self-starter, not someone who waits to be told what to do
- Curious, hardworking, diligent, great attitude, capable of taking ownership
