**J.P. Morgan’s Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai** was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm’s global equity research teams around the world. Since its inception GRC has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to over 100 and provides coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with JP Morgan’s equity research teams, the analysts and associates in GRC are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, economics, strategy, credit derivatives and indices.

The analyst in GRC supports the Global EM Local Markets and Sovereign Debt Strategy team with onshore analysts based in London. The global team delivers trade ideas, in-depth reports, analytical tools, and educational materials to the firm’s clients. Broadly distributed reports and daily analytics make up the most visible part of the group’s effort. The team supports the global team in creating daily and weekly research products and responds to bespoke client requests.
- Job responsibilities_
- Working as part of a top-ranked global Emerging Markets fixed income strategy team.
- Key focus will be to upgrade, automate and develop our client-facing analytics covering EM credit, EM FX and EM rates markets.
- Close integration with the EM Strategy team will help develop markets knowledge and skills, working with some of the leading researchers on the sell-side.
- Ideal for someone with a technology background who is looking at increasing their financial markets knowledge and working on the intersection of technology and finance.
- Working with technology is also essential and a strategic mindset to build out analytics frameworks and automation.
- Wide future scope for working actively on Research with the wider team and support for quantitative EM research and systematic strategies.
- Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills_
- Keen interest in global financial markets
- Desire to learn about markets and specific financial instruments traded in EM fixed income markets (bonds, interest rate swaps, credit default swaps), in great depth
- Strong quantitative skills
- Analytical aptitude and ability to learn financial concepts
- Good knowledge of Excel, knowledge of VBA will be a plus
- Good communication and team working skills in a multi-location set up
- Very good attention to detail
- A strong motivation for learning and managing projects independently
