Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely maintenance of rides, attractions, and park facilities. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance to keep all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural systems in optimal working condition, ensuring a safe and enjoyable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ride & Attraction Maintenance

Conduct daily inspections of rides and attractions to ensure operational safety and compliance with manufacturer guidelines and park standards.

Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform necessary repairs.

Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance as per the parks maintenance program.

2. Facility & Equipment Upkeep

Maintain and repair park infrastructure, including gates, water rides, conveyor systems, and mechanical components of show equipment.

Service and calibrate motors, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical devices.

3. Safety Compliance

Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and maintenance checklists.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and work reports.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety codes, and manufacturer specifications.

4. Team Collaboration

Work closely with electricians, ride operators, and safety officers to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.

Assist in ride commissioning after repairs or inspections.

5. Emergency Response

Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns or malfunctions during park operating hours.

Participate in after-hours maintenance and emergency call-outs as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance (preferably in amusement parks, manufacturing, or heavy machinery).

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, chains, and gear systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in using maintenance tools, welding, and fabrication.

Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit to lift, carry, and move heavy components (up to 25-30 kg).

Work Schedule:

- Shift-based schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as the park operates year-round.
- On-call duty for urgent repairs.
