An **Oncology Staff Nurse** is a registered nurse who cares for patients with cancer. They support patients from diagnosis to recovery or end-of-life care. The nurse gives treatments like chemotherapy, manages symptoms, and helps patients and their families understand the illness. They work with doctors, other nurses, and support staff to provide the best care.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Patient Care:
Monitor patients with cancer and report any changes.
Give chemotherapy and other treatments safely.
Manage side effects like pain, nausea, or weakness.
Help with daily needs such as bathing, eating, and mobility if needed.
2. Emotional Support:
Listen to patients and their families.
Offer comfort and explain what to expect during treatment.
Support patients emotionally through difficult times.
3. Education:
Teach patients how to manage symptoms at home.
Give clear information about medications and follow-up care.
Educate families on how to help the patient.
4. Medical Tasks:
Check vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
Administer IV fluids, injections, or blood transfusions.
Maintain cleanliness and infection control in the unit.
5. Record Keeping:
Keep accurate patient records.
Document all treatments and changes in the patient's condition.
6. Teamwork:
Work with doctors, dietitians, social workers, and therapists.
Attend meetings about patient care and give input.
7. Emergency Response:
Act quickly in case of emergencies like allergic reactions or collapse.
Use life-saving techniques like CPR if needed.
