**Job Description**:
**JOB PURPOSE**
- Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the rail grinder fleet.
- Maximise machine availability.
- To drive, operate and maintain Switch Rail Grinding Machine/Metro Grinder as required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
- Report any defects found on the machine & carry out repairs within the required competency level for the role, as directed.
- Undertake maintenance activities in accordance with the Vehicle Maintenance Instructions / Maintenance Manual
- Assist Grinder Technician with required tasks.
- To carry out planned maintenance duties in line with company policies & procedures & work instructions.
- Ensure the working environment is maintained as required.
- Inform the supervisor of any issues/problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control.
- Operate the machine for maintenance purposes.
- Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures.
- Be responsible for the care of company assets in the individual’s possession.
- To undertake training as required.
- Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems.
- Liaise with customers and contractors as required
- Make sure method statements and risk assessments are applied
- Update and carry out risk assessments as required
- Maintain regular contact with the Railway representative
- Maintain regular contact with the Machine manager
- Maintain regular communication with team members
- Work to the roster as required
- Provide reports/information as required by the machine manager
- Comply with all statutory and company policies and procedures
- To undertake training as required
- To ensure all machine defects are reported and rectified
- To operate Switch Rail Grinding Machine/ Metro Grinder in line with procedures
- Complete all necessary documentation
- Ensure the machine is maintained to the maintenance schedule
- To communicate with the safety rep of the Client
- To learn and maintain routes as identified by the Machine Manager
- Manage machine stock levels
- Flexible to work on other machines
- Work away from home as required

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications & Managerial Experience**
- Professional Qualifications needed to enable key activities to be achieved.
- Track safety qualification
- as required by Indian Railways
