**Description**:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant at Aurora Energy Research, you will be part of a close-knit Finance team responsible for handling the company’s purchase-to-pay cycle. The role centres on accuracy, efficiency, and effective communication, requiring you to engage frequently with both internal colleagues and external suppliers to resolve queries and maintain smooth operations. Although opportunities for progression are limited, this position offers a steady, supportive work environment where you can refine your financial administration skills, gain hands-on experience with integrated accounting systems, and develop a detailed understanding of best practices within a global business setting.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Employee Expenses & Credit Cards
- Check and process expense and credit card statements and claims.
- Reconcile credit card statements at month end.
- Administer credit card programmes.
- Invoice Validation & Approval
- Verify invoices against POs/PRs and confirm correct approvals.
- Work with the local Accounts Payable team to resolve discrepancies.
- Payments & Compliance
- Prepare and process supplier payments, ensuring senior Finance Manager sign-off.
- Maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Query Resolution
- Investigate and resolve any outstanding AP issues.

**What we are looking for**:
**Required attributes**:

- At least 2 years experience Accounts Payable or similar administration role
- An understanding of integrated accounting systems
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite particularly Excel (sorting data, pivot tables)
- Experience using ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work comfortably with business users
- Proactive and inquisitive with a high attention to detail
- Strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations

**Desirable Attributes**:

- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 would be beneficial
