- **Sourcing**:Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers for assigned materials and services. This includes researching market conditions, comparing supplier offerings, and conducting preliminary supplier assessments.
- **Purchasing**:Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required information. Monitor order status, follow up on deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
- **Supplier Relationship Management**:Maintain regular communication with assigned suppliers, addressing questions and concerns promptly. Build and maintain positive working relationships, fostering collaboration and open communication. Track and monitor supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- **Negotiation**:Participate in negotiation discussions with suppliers, striving to achieve favorable pricing and terms while maintaining quality standards. This may involve working with more senior buyers on complex negotiations.
- **Cost Analysis**:Assist in analyzing cost data and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Prepare cost comparisons and reports as needed.
- **Problem Solving**:Proactively identify and resolve issues related to purchasing, deliveries, or supplier performance. Escalate complex issues to senior buyers or the procurement manager as needed.
- **Continuous Improvement**:Actively seek opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiency. Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for streamlining workflows.
