**Role Description**

The Software Development Engineer will participate in the day-to-day operations of a team of software developers and contribute to maintaining a healthy, positive and collaborative environment in the team. The Software Development Engineer is expected to develop code to meet business, technical and non-functional requirements as well as providing help and support to the team. The Software Development Engineer will be an integral part of the transformational journey as well for migration from existing IBM Mainframe infrastructure and code/data base to a strategic solution on the Cloud.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Developing/Delivering and maintaining solutions in accordance with best practices
- Analyze code to understand the existing system today in order to transform it to the strategic solution
- Developing tools to make every day work easier and faster
- Ensuring efficient functioning of batches and online flow programs with optimized database access and mínimal CPU cycles consumption for processing
- Resolve Production and self-identified issues to make the system more reliable
- Share Technical knowledge and expertise with the team members
- Effective collaboration with interface partners and co-ordination within the team

**Your skills and experience**
- 5+ years of software development experience on IBM Mainframe with JCL/COBOL/DB2/MQ/CICS
- Demonstrate technical expertise in programming and troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge of software engineering
- Strong analytical skills and experience on analysis of existing systems
- Experience with technical documentation, components, flows and use cases
- Demonstrable DevOps-oriented mind-set
- Experience with component and integration testing as well as providing support for interface and user acceptance tests
- Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Hands on experience in REXX/Easytrieve would be a plus
