Group Description:
The Error Coordinator (EC) will be part of AB’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) Team within AB’s Risk Management Department (part of AB’s “Second Line” control functions). The ORM Team is responsible for AB’s error and incident reporting policies and procedures, as well as the risk system (EITS) used for recording and reporting such events. However, identification, investigation and documentation of events is done within AB’s Strategic Business Units (SBU)s or “First Line”. SBUs also have dedicated Risk Teams (SBU Risk) who oversee event reporting, remediation and reimbursement within their SBU.

As part of AB’s ORM Team, the EC will partner closely with AB’s SBU Risk teams to facilitate the error reporting and resolution process within the “First Line” business units. This will include monitoring the risk system for new reported errors, alerting SBU Risk Teams, engaging with business teams (primarily Portfolio Management Group, Trading and Operations) to gather detailed information about the error, documenting meetings and calls about the error, and ensuring appropriate remediating actions are identified and followed through. The EC will be an extension of the SBU Risk Management teams, working dynamically across multiple business units depending on volumes of reported events.

Specific Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
- Experience in operational risk management within the finance sector, or experience in audit and control management or operations management in the finance sector.- Comfortable engaging with various levels of the organization for information gathering and event documentation.- Skilled in managing ambiguous situations, utilizing critical thinking to effectively problem-solve.- Experience implementing risk management policies and procedures.- Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.- Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrating clarity and accuracy.- Experience in process mapping and control reviews a benefit.

Special Knowledge (if applicable):
- Knows AB’s SBUs and operations.- Can confidently ask questions of onshore business stakeholders.- Can follow-up with business stakeholders to gather more information.- Can work to set timeframes.- Can deliver high-quality written reports.
