Infection Control Nurse

To recognize and isolate outbreak of infectious diseases in healthcare and in the community as described by infection control committee.
- Should have a good communication, interpersonal and management skill.
- To collect and analyze data on the incidence of HAIs and success or failure of various prevention strategies.
- To serve as an infection disease consultant for both healthcare providers and members of the committee.
- To coordinate with doctors in educating and create awareness to the members and their families infected with HIV/AIDS, TB and other infections.
- To be responsible for the monitoring, surveillance, investigating, prevention and control of hospital acquired infections.
- To advice nursing department for extra care and isolation of patients with infectious conditions.
- To explain the lab reports of various infections their prevention and control to nursing staffs in an effective way.
- To advise all nursing staffs and other hospice staffs regarding matters related to infection control.
- Should conduct classes to all employees about the method of HANDWASH & HANDRUB.
- Should conduct training classes for each and every employee about infections and their prevention/control.
- Should advice medical/nursing personnel regarding patient placement to minimize the spread of infection and the implementation of agreed guidelines in their specific areas.
- Should conduct infection prevention / control and hygiene audits and prepare a report periodically and submit a copy to medical/nursing heads and other higher authorities.
- Should provide feedback and support staff in developing and implementing action plans where ever necessary.
- Should provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients with the guidelines laid down by the Nursing & Midwifery Board and Infection Control committee.
- Should participate in teams and all necessary meetings and coordinate with the other team members.
- Should maintain all nursing records in accordance with local service and professional standards.
- To implement changes in the organization in response to patient/employees need and service demands.
- Should teach all employees regarding the different color codes of biomedical waste and there are of disposal.
- Should conduct classes periodically and maintain a log book or register for the meeting.
- Should go on regular rounds to each and every ward on daily basis and submit a detailed report to medical/nursing head.
- Should adhere and implement the organization policies and procedures for a successful organization.
- Ensure appropriate staff training in infection control and safety management and training of health care workers.
- Assess for Vaccination for Health Care Workers.
- An infection control nurse may be responsible for data collection, interpretation and analysis.
- Hospital Infection Control Nurse serves as an educator in infection prevention and control.
- Monitors all hospital acquired infection.
- Prepare and receive antibiotic policy periodically.
- Monitors and manages critical incidents in their units.
- Monthly Quality indicator submitted by ICT is analyzed with HIC coordinator.
- Preparation of strategy, rectification and prevention dealing with outbreaks and train Health care workers on the same.
- Inducting all new employees on Hospital Infection Control.
- Should ensure completion of incident/near miss forms/clinical risk forms periodically.
- Should participate in the education forums and training programs conducted on infection control/prevention.
- Should advise staff on issues related to decontamination.
- Should keep them updated on all infection control and prevention strategies.
- Should follow the organization rules, regulations, policies and procedures strictly. In case of violation necessary actions will be taken by the management
- Should abide the leave policies and procedures and inform head before availing any leave.
- Any other duties assigned by the management from time to time.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
