Associate Copy Editor

The primary responsibilities of an Associate Copy Editor are to edit/update/publish content that conforms to the best practices for the individual medium including blog posts, social promotion, online attorney profiles and websites.
**About the Role**:
- Research, write and edit accurate content that complies with internal best practices and industry standards.
- Edit or revise content based on internal or external feedback.
- Accountable for meeting established deliverables and quality expectations.
- Maintain proficiency in company business systems including fulfillment and tracking software.
- Responsible for a product line or process.
- Creates and/or maintains process or product specific documentation.
- May create and support meta data.
- May train others on processes as required.
- Provides escalated support in workflow processes.
Workflow
- Maintains the integrity and completeness of work product and product databases for writing/editorial/video making and primary source materials.
- Identifies and resolves problems and initiates escalation of more complex issues to other groups.
- Possesses proficient knowledge of production process to resolve routine problems, suggests process improvements, and prioritizes their own work.
- Participates in product enhancement or process improvement projects
- May participate in decision-making and prioritization for production schedules and processes and collaborate with other organizations on all aspects of project production.
**About You**:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Good general aptitude
- English (US), communications, journalism or related background is preferred
- Experience:
- Six months to 1 year of experience in writing/editing/video making
- Working knowledge of emerging trends and developments in content strategy
Knowledge/Skills
- Working knowledge of:
- Standard rules for grammar, punctuation and spelling
- Familiarity with AP style guide preferred
- Strong online research skills
- Fair understanding of digital media (including but not limited to websites)
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Works well in a team environment, embraces change and is highly adaptable
- Deadline driven and is able to achieve output and metric goals
