Position Title: Counter Sales representative
Overview:
Counter Sales Associates in the jewelry industry play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining the overall presentation of the jewelry store. They serve as the frontline representatives of the brand and are responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, offering product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
**Responsibilities**:
- Customer Assistance:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with personalized assistance.
- Understand customer needs and preferences to recommend suitable jewelry items.
- Assist customers in trying on jewelry pieces and provide guidance on styling and accessorizing.
- Sales and Upselling:
- Utilize product knowledge to effectively communicate the features and benefits of various jewelry pieces.
- Actively engage in suggestive selling techniques to increase sales and upsell complementary products.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue goals of the store.
- Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on the latest jewelry trends, materials, and designs.
- Educate customers about the quality, craftsmanship, and value of different jewelry pieces.
- Provide information on gemstones, metals, and care instructions for maintaining jewelry.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels.
- Monitor the display cases and ensure that jewelry items are properly showcased and organized.
- Collaborate with the management team to replenish stock and arrange displays as needed.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Handle transactions, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and managing returns or exchanges.
- Build long-lasting relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere in the store.
- Store Maintenance:
- Keep the sales area clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Assist with routine store maintenance tasks, such as dusting display cases and polishing jewelry.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures to prevent theft or loss of merchandise.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education or relevant certification preferred.
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in the jewelry industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of jewelry materials, gemstones, and industry terminology.
- Sales-driven mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
