**Job Title: Computer Operator (M/F)**

**Job Overview**: The Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling computer systems, servers, and related equipment in a data center or office environment. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and supporting the IT team with various tasks. The Computer Operator plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the organization's IT infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **System Monitoring and Control**:

- Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks for performance and security issues.
- Respond to system alerts and errors promptly to ensure mínimal downtime.
- Perform regular system checks and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- **Troubleshooting and Support**:

- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist with troubleshooting basic IT problems.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff or external vendors as needed.
- **Data Management**:

- Perform regular data backups and ensure the integrity and security of data.
- Manage and maintain data storage systems, ensuring data is organized and accessible.
- Assist with data recovery processes in the event of data loss.
- **System Maintenance**:

- Schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and system upgrades.
- Ensure all systems and software are up-to-date with the latest patches and security updates.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system configurations.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed logs of system operations, issues, and resolutions.
- Prepare reports on system performance, downtime, and other relevant metrics.
- Document procedures and create user guides for common tasks and troubleshooting steps.
- **Collaboration and Training**:

- Work closely with the IT team to support various IT projects and initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on basic computer operations and software usage.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or coursework in IT or computer science is preferred.
- Previous experience in a computer operator or similar IT support role.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting computer systems, servers, and networks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.

**Work Environment**: This role typically operates in an office or data center environment. The Computer Operator may need to work shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage of IT operations. The position may require standing, sitting, and lifting equipment as needed.
