Introduction:
In this role, you will act as the legal entity controller for Cards and related businesses. The key responsibilities would include (but not limited to):

- Effective legal entity controllership including month end reporting, BS analysis etc.
- Group reporting for respective business: Statutory as well as Financial reporting
- New product accounting and complex accounting judgements involving practical implication of IFRS (including IFRS 9, 13, 15, 16 etc.)
- Ensure applicability of robust control environment
- Assessment and execution of Barclays wide projects in the respective businesses

What will you be doing?

Main accountabilities for this role would be as follows:

- Legal entity/group reporting for Barclaycard business.
- Fair knowledge of LEC function including month close processes, account reconciliation and substantiation, etc.
- Carve out accounting for new and amended product launches
- Ensuring the integrity of Financial Statement including setting up and maintenance of robust control framework for business
- Aptitude to deal with adhoc initiatives /work streams under stringent timelines
- Driving change and encouraging innovation

What we’re looking for:

- Fair knowledge of LEC function including month close processes, account reconciliation and substantiation, etc.
- Strong financial background experience including exposure to IFRSs and external/regulatory reporting or Financial Control function for large scale organisation
- Formal accounting or business qualification e.g. ACMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Exposure to Front to Back Trade Flows
- Understanding of SAP/Hyperion and other reporting tools
- Experience of working with Senior Management Required to provide detailed analysis and information on complex queries/problems and communicate to stakeholders on proposed solutions and recommendations
- Minimal supervisory oversight and able to perform duties with mínimal or no guidance
- Assertiveness, tenacious and control focused
