**Job Title: Metal Bending Machine Operator**

**Job Overview**:
As a Metal Bending Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal bending machines to bend various types of metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Your primary goal will be to ensure the accurate and efficient production of bent metal parts while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Setup**: Prepare the metal bending machine for operation by installing the appropriate tooling, selecting the correct bending parameters, and adjusting machine settings according to the specifications provided.
- **Material Handling**: Load metal sheets or components onto the bending machine's work area, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate bending.
- **Operation**: Operate the metal bending machine controls to initiate bending processes, monitor machine operations, and make adjustments as necessary to achieve the desired bend angles, radii, and dimensions.
- **Quality Assurance**: Inspect bent metal parts visually and using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet the specified tolerances and quality standards. Make adjustments to the bending machine as needed to correct deviations and maintain consistency.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the metal bending machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs as necessary.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating the metal bending machine, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and reporting any safety hazards or incidents.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch quantities, machine settings, and inspection results. Report any deviations, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor or relevant personnel.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining or metal fabrication preferred.
- Proven experience operating metal bending machines, press brakes, or similar equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation principles.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality in workmanship.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials, perform repetitive tasks, and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to machine operation and metalworking processes.

**Work Environment**:
Metal bending machine operators typically work in manufacturing facilities, workshops, or production environments where they may be exposed to noise, dust, and other occupational hazards. The job may require standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials or components. Depending on the production schedule, operators may work in shifts or overtime hours to meet project deadlines.
