**Role
- L2 &L3 - SME LAN/WAN ( 24x7)**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Network Configuration & Management**: Assist in the configuration and management of **Cisco and Juniper** routers, switches, and wireless equipment, ensuring optimal network performance across **LAN** and **WAN** environments.
- **Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution**: Provide advanced troubleshooting support for network-related issues including routing, switching, wireless connectivity, and VPN. Use diagnostic tools to resolve problems and escalate more complex issues when needed.
- **Network Monitoring**: Continuously monitor network health and performance using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). Proactively address potential issues before they impact the network.
- **Configuration Changes**: Implement changes to network configurations, including IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), firewall rules, and wireless configurations.
- **Network Performance Optimization**: Identify areas of the network requiring optimization, including troubleshooting performance issues, optimizing throughput, and addressing network congestion in both **LAN** and **WAN** environments.
- **Wireless Network Support**: Assist in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of **wireless networks** (Wi-Fi APs, controllers, etc.) to ensure secure and reliable wireless connectivity across the organization.
- **Security Implementation**: Support network security best practices, including VPN configurations, access control lists (ACLs), and ensuring secure network traffic flows across Cisco and Juniper devices.
- **Documentation & Reporting**: Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change logs. Assist with incident reporting, providing detailed reports of troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- **Collaboration & Escalation**: Work closely with L3 engineers and other IT teams (e.g., security, systems, and support teams) to resolve complex issues, share knowledge, and assist with network-related projects.
- **Network Hardware & Software Updates**: Assist in updating network hardware, firmware, and software to ensure devices are running the latest stable versions.
- **Compliance & Best Practices**: Follow organizational standards, network policies, and security protocols to ensure compliance and maintain a secure network infrastructure.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper network devices** (routers, switches, wireless controllers, firewalls).
- Strong understanding of **LAN/WAN** technologies, including routing, switching, VLANs, and protocols such as **OSPF, BGP**, and **MPLS**.
- Experience with **Cisco and Juniper wireless solutions**, including configuring and troubleshooting wireless access points and controllers.
- Knowledge of **network security principles**, including **VPNs**, **NAT**, **ACLs**, and **firewall rule management**.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., **SolarWinds**, **PRTG**, **Nagios**).
- Understanding of **IP addressing** and **subnetting**.
- Basic understanding of **network optimization techniques** such as **QoS**, **load balancing**, and **traffic shaping**.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for network-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and configuration problems.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
