**Job Description**:
Enterprise Architect - Technical Specialist

Working as an Enterprise Architect is a senior role within new Enterprise Architecture team - NEAT in the
Strategy & Architecture department. You will be responsible for strategic enterprise roadmaps, lead
architecture activity on significant products, programmes and initiatives of high complexity, adding value
to a wide range of business and technology stakeholders.

You’ll have the opportunity to:
Translate business strategy into a practical architecture products & services that achieve banking clients
outcomes, aligning with supervision, policy, competition, enforcement or market oversight, risk,
or general counsel etc.). Own and Deliver stakeholder ready material.
Provide recommendation & assurance to senior stakeholders (including SLT) and various Design
Authorities to resolve for cross-divisional impacts and ensure a standard approach and quality of
design work across the organisation.
Identify opportunities for business innovation and shape design proposals for executing them;
drive innovation within the business where this delivers quick wins and business benefit and is in
the boundary of the business architecture roadmap.
Provide oversight and guidance of work of associates wider community of architects.
Contributing to the relevant communities of practice, providing thought leadership, coaching and
mentoring of other employees to build the overall business architect capability within
Technology Division.
Align to Data & Intelligence and business divisions ensuring business, data and technical
architecture can meet transformational needs of the business. The products & services generated
must both cohere with strategic enterprise stands and meet the business customer’s needs while
ensuring fit and integrity across other divisions.

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Experience working as an enterprise architect and at least one of
data/solution/technical/infrastructure/software architect, either in professional services,
financial services, or the public sector / regulated environment.
Experience in conducting market, customer and value assessments and using insights to shape
business architecture in support of business strategies.
Experience of designing solutions for large organizations and leading business stakeholders
through the development and execution of their strategy through architecture.

**Essential Criteria**
- Expertise in architectural frameworks and concepts, methodologies and mapping standards and
approaches i.e. capability maps, value chain analysis, value creation and business models and
experience in the use of enterprise architecture tooling.
Detailed knowledge of people, processes, technology, partnerships/interactions and governance
that supports the relevant business division and how divisional objectives, outcomes and
initiatives impact other business areas.
Overall knowledge of a broad range of technology, trends and standards in providing IT products
as services.
Good facilitator, drawing out problems, active listening skills, involving and gaining commitment
from the relevant stakeholders in the business with credibility and gravitas to establish trust,
gaining consensus and buy-in, orchestrating engagement and collaboration with senior
leadership
A proactive and creative thinker, whilst grounded in the use of analysis tools and frameworks to
solve problems and innovate.
Excellent communication skills able to translate technical information, challenges, and
requirements into easily understandable and digestible content for a business audience.
Open, curious, collaborative, can-do attitude.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Understanding of (or curiosity and willingness to learn about) the relevant business divisions and their
functions, processes and the outcomes they are seeking to achieve, including how this links to
the business strategy and objectives.
Experience deciphering strategic documentation into practical architecture.
Experience with formal programme management methodologies (e.g. TOAGF, Prince2, MSP,
Agile, BizBoK)
Experience of Financial Services or a government / regulatory body and how the relationship
between processes, people, data and systems within these organisations are key pillars in
enabling business change.
Line management experience will be an advantage.
