**Introduction**:

- We are looking for a Customer Payments Executive with a background in Accounts Payable or Banking/Cashiering to support financial operations involved in the running of The Economist Newspaper subscription platform (Zuora). The role involves reconciling subscription receipts to bank and payment provider records, processing refunds to customers, handling customer service queries relating to financial matters and some accounting responsibilities.A number of functions within The Economist Group Finance team are currently being migrated to Gurugram. This position will report into the Banking and Accounts Payable Manager in Gurugram and will work closely with the Circulation Finance Systems Manager in London.**Accountabilities**:

- Generate weekly cash book reports for the Banking/Cashier team.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of cash balance sheet accounts relating to the subscriptions processing and to be able to explain any variances.
- Liaise with other colleagues in the Banking/Cashiers and other internal teams to resolve reconciliation differences and errors.
- Support The Economist Subscription Customer services team with financial related customer enquiries.
- Produce weekly refund files and work with Accounts Payable colleagues to ensure that Direct Debit and Agent customers are refunded.
- Investigate customer chargebacks for credit card/PayPal and direct debit transactions and take suitable action to resolve the disputes.
- Investigate and resolve the daily failed refunds.
- Assist with Audits to provide full Audit trails of all transactions
- Work with internal finance teams (incl. Cashiers, Accounts Payable, Tax and Circulation Finance) to monitor and improve internal processes
- Assist in testing of any changes in the subscription platform
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to stakeholders involved in operating the Economist Newspaper Subscription platform

**Experience, skills and professional attributes**:

- Good academics
- Clear communicator with strong customer service and organisational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience in finance (ideally subscriptions and/or dispute management), preferably working with multiple products, currencies and geographic locations
- Experience of banking portals such as Cybersource, PayPal, WorldPay, BOA and American Express.
- Understanding of Subscription accounting process (Zuora system an advantage)
- High level of professionalism and personal integrity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clear communicator with strong customer service skills
- Pro-activeness and responsiveness
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle competing demands for service
- Commitment to quality and timely service delivery
