Tool Room - Surface Grinder & Milling Operator

**Department**: Tool Room / Manufacturing

**Location**: Dombivali East

**Reports To**: Tool Room Supervisor / Production Manager

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate surface grinding machines (manual or CNC) with precision and accuracy.
- Understand and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Perform surface grinding on various metals (hardened steel, mild steel, etc.) for components like dies, punches, plates, and other tooling parts.
- Maintain close tolerances (within ±0.01 mm or as specified).
- Select and dress grinding wheels based on material and finish requirements.
- Set up workpieces using magnetic chucks, vices, and proper clamping techniques.
- Inspect finished components using micrometers, height gauges, surface finish comparators, and other measuring tools.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, routine lubrication, and minor maintenance.
- Ensure job documentation, daily reports, and quality inspection sheets are properly filled.
- Work in coordination with tool makers, CNC operators, and quality teams.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workstation.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die, Machinist, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in surface grinding operations.
- Knowledge of material hardness, grinding wheel types, and dressing techniques.
- Ability to work independently and produce high-precision parts.
- Familiarity with other tool room machines (e.g., milling, lathe, EDM) is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 48 per week
