**Job Description**:
Key Responsibilities:
Database Installation and Configuration:
Install and configure PostgreSQL database software on servers and ensure proper setup.
Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch installations.
Database Design and Optimization:
Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and system resource utilization.
Tune database parameters and configurations to improve overall system performance.
Database Monitoring and Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and security of PostgreSQL database systems.
Set up database monitoring tools and implement proactive measures to identify and resolve issues.
Perform regular database backups, implement disaster recovery strategies, and ensure data integrity.
Performance Tuning and Query Optimization:
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by analyzing SQL queries and suggesting optimizations.
Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future database growth and resource requirements.
Database Security and Access Control:
Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
Manage user accounts, roles, and privileges to ensure appropriate data access levels.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance degradation.
Maintain documentation and knowledge base to capture troubleshooting steps and solutions.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven work experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture, administration, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with query optimization techniques.
Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations.
