Gurgaon, India Moody's Investors Service Full time

AVP - International Accounting Research and Policy will join a dynamic technology-enabled controllership team and will be an important member of the Moody’s Finance Team. This role will be focused on supporting Moody’s International Accounting team with complex accounting and financial reporting matters while also fostering automation of the preparation statutory financial statements (via usage of Workiva, Power BI, Alteryx). Additionally, this position will support the US Accounting Research and Policy team with U.S. GAAP matters and M&A accounting.

**Key responsibilities ‪‪**:

- Prepare accounting position white papers supporting treatment of key transactions
- Partner with different departments and provide accounting advice on complex transactions as part of decision-making process ‪‪
- Perform analysis on new accounting standards and reporting requirements, identify the impact and define the accounting policies for Moody’s international subsidiaries
- Partner with International Controllership in implementing new accounting standards and advise on any differences to U.S. GAAP ‪‪‪
- Prepare the IFRS template that will be applied by Moody’s subsidiaries utilizing the Workiva WDesk solution
- Champion automation initiatives relating to the preparation of statutory financial statements (utilizing Workiva/Power BI/Alteryx)
- Review statutory financial statements to ensure compliance with Moody’s policies and accounting standards ‪‪
- Preparation of impairment reports (including review of legal entity valuations)
- Assist in managing external auditors to ensure timely filing of financial statements ‪
- Assist in developing training materials and deliver training to the international finance team on Moody’s accounting policies and IFRS developments ‪
- Assist with the development of accounting knowledge hub which will provide easy access to technical guidance for international controllers

- Qualified accountant, at least 6 years post qualification experience (PQE) ‪
- Prefer some experience in a Big 4 technical / audit role ‪
- Experience working with Workiva, Power BI and SAP a plus ‪
- Technically minded and aware of commercial considerations in business decisions ‪
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills/influencing skills
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other jurisdictions’ GAAPs where we have a presence (e.g. India, France) a plus.
