**Job Description**:

- We are seeking an exceptional and experienced DBA who shares our passion and obsession with quality. You'll be a core member of our product and engineering team dedicated to helping our clients replace time-consuming, manual processes to reach informed real-time decisions about government markets, competitors, and agency relationships.

We need a skilled and dedicated DBA possible. You must be a hands-on engineer, with a strong understanding of PostgreSQL and optimizing its performance, as well as familiarity with Aurora and database administration responsibilities. You must also have strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally across internal teams and Govini platform SMEs.

This is a team member position, ideally working onsite in our Pittsburgh, PA office in a hybrid schedule but open to remote work on a contract basis as well.

**Scope of Responsibilities**:

- Postgres database performance and reliability tuning
- SQL query optimization
- Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest steps for remediation
- Contribute to overall data and infrastructure architecture with an eye toward minimizing query response times
- Assist with production troubleshooting
- Postgres and Aurora configuration and administration including managing user access and security. Assist with design and operation of data ingestion, data migration, and data loading.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be able to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship both now and in the future

**Required Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience with DBA, specifically related to optimizing its performance
- Experience with Amazon Aurora
- Advanced SQL programming skills
- Requires strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- A burning desire to tackle hard problems and create sustainable solutions
- Desired Skills- Prior DBA experience
- Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
- Working knowledge with large (multiple terabytes) amounts of data
