**Job responsibilities of a Production Merchandizer**

**Sourcing** : For garment house fabric and trims are the raw material which needs to be outsourced. Sourcing is basically determining the most cost-efficient vendor of materials, production, or finished goods at the specified quality and service level. It is closely associated and an important part of apparel merchandisers’ responsibility. Merchandisers must ensure that all approvals related to fabric and trims should be coordinated with the sourcing department in a given timeframe. Preparing bill of material and handover the same to sourcing department. Execution of sourcing trims / accessories.

**Product Development** : Develop new designs and styles within the organisation. Presentation of new colours, prints, embroidery patterns and desk loom developments. Implement the requested standard into the new fashion product. Prepare production file with details documents like approvals, samples and Swatches and comments.

**Costing** : Merchandisers should have knowledge of costing and its calculations. While calculating the cost of the garment merchandiser keeps the following things in mind., Fabric consumption, Trims, Value-added services likes printing, embroidery, washing, Testing, Transportation and logistics cost and Profit of the manufacturing organisation

**Sampling** : Sampling is an important aspect. Making samples on the basis of the specification and requirements of the brand. Present the concept, perception and ideas of fashion designer developed into product samples, in systematic stages of product development, with technical and quality clarity in a development. Co-ordinate with merchandiser and follow up to get approvals.

**Planning (Time and action calendar)** : Based on the process flow of an order, merchants prepare time and action calendar to indicate who is responsible for the task. Successful merchandising is an outcome of effective preparation and follows up of time and action calendar by all departments.

**Communication** : Merchandisers must be aware of the etiquette to use all modes of communication.

**Coordination** : Coordinate with all the departments within the organization to have a smooth functioning.

Conduct regular meeting with quality team and production team to discuss style construction details, production plan, PCD and handover production file to the production team. Also give clarification if required related to style workmanship/trims etc.

Giving approval and following up on printing, embroidery production and other subcontracting work.

Execution of orders whether it is running on time or not.

Keeping track of style status and updating the same to top management and buyer representative.

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
