**Job Title**: Procurement Specialist - Fruits and Vegetables

**Reports To**: Procurement Manager

**Job Summary**: The Procurement Specialist for Fruits and Vegetables will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality fruits and vegetables from local and international suppliers. This role involves ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of fresh produce while maintaining quality standards and building strong relationships with suppliers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sourcing and Supplier Management**:

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for fruits and vegetables, both locally and internationally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure that all procured fruits and vegetables meet the company's quality standards.
- Conduct regular visits to suppliers' farms or facilities to inspect the quality and freshness of the produce.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address any issues related to product quality.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and storage of produce.
- Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize waste.
- **Market Analysis**:

- Stay updated on market trends, seasonal availability, and price fluctuations for fruits and vegetables.
- Provide regular reports and insights to the procurement manager to inform purchasing decisions.
- Explore opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- **Compliance and Documentation**:

- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Handle import/export documentation and adhere to food safety and quality standards.
- **Cost Management**:

- Develop and manage procurement budgets for the fruits and vegetables category.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Monitor and report on procurement spending to ensure adherence to the budget.
