**1. Administrative**:

- To monitors absenteeism of inform
- Daily reporting to Supervisors, nursing superintendent & consultants.
- Monthly reporting to Medical Superintendent.
- Nurse patient ratio to be maintained.
- Preparation of duty roster of staff.
- Assignment of daily duties monitoring.
- Management of sound inventory control.
- Management of HK & PCA staff.
- Indent of supplies.
- Ward activity sheet update.
- Equipment breakdown.
- Any other task assigned to you time to time by the management

**2. Clinical**
- Follow up round / Reporting.
- Ensure all references & medications investigations are given one time and carried out
- Attending round with chief physician.
- Ensuring daily activities of all patients are carried out by staff.
- Maintaining all records register.
- Counseling of patients & relatives.
- Dietary advised to be followed.
- Medicines safety consents (Pharmacy returns)

**2. Infection Control Hospital Infection**
- Adherence to standard precaution
- Maintaining all check list:

- SSI, CAUTI, CLABSI
- Send in necessary Blood investigations.
- Housekeeping & linen Practices.
- Training all staff bedside for topics defined.
- Ensure all staff is vaccinated for HBV.
- Ensure CSSD supplier is well maintained.
- Hand hygiene adherence.
- Visitor’s policy; Bedsore prevention.

FOR ICU

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Daily and monthly report to nursing superintendent
- To allocate the duties and daily assignments to the staff nurses working in ICU.
- To keep the sound inventory control.
- To adhere the infection control protocol of hospitals.
- Stringent to the visitors policy
- To supervise the nursing care given by all staff nurses and attendants.
- To monitors infection control rates and trends.
- To monitors the care bundles during the various procedures in ICU.
- To see the patients are getting the treatment given by the doctors and they are satisfied.
- To monitors the patient for bed sores prevention by using Braden scale score.
- Follow the rounds of Intensivist and treating consultant.
- To maintain all registers, forms and formats used in ICU as per the standard requirements.
- Responsible for updating & training staff for all activities.
- To strictly abide to all hospital infection control practices & ensure there is no gross infection in ICU.
- To ensure that all equipments are calibrated and in working condition.
- To ensure adequate availability of staff so as to maintain nurse patient ratio.
- To prepare duty rosters of all staff.
- As the HOD your commitment to the organization should not have any restrictions in working norms which should be flexible as and when required.
- Maintain communication between nursing personnel and other departments to ensure coordination for optimal patient care.
- Counsel staff nurses in the development of professional skills.
- Responds to patient/family/staff grievances and addresses them in professional manner up holding the organizational values.
- Responds to emergency situation and resolves issues in consultation with NS as required.
- To ensure the good housekeeping practices in the department.

To keep a record of maintenance of equipments and identifying the needs. Before leaving duty to ensure all sufficient stock is present on Nursing Station
