**Location - Cochin**
**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Conducts on-site customer engagements collecting information to generate case studies and quantifying the impact of the Cepheid value proposition. This includes preparing and presenting business case justifications demonstrating the economic opportunities to both the laboratory and to the facility as a whole.
- Assists the field sales organization in the identification, qualification, and closing of customer opportunities.
- Manages assigned region funnel and participates in activities to achieve assigned corporate revenue goals.
- Ensures proper positioning of the GeneXpert system, software and Xpert product menu within healthcare organizations.
- Develops Customer Team of Champions inside and outside the Laboratory (e.g. Infection Prevention, Pharmacy, Nursing, ED and C-Suite)
- Communicates effectively with the Scientific Advisory Board, Laboratory Focus Groups and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s)
- Serves as key consultant for input and interpretation of issues that impact product performance, sales, quality, cost or reliability. Has primary responsibility for working with appropriate groups to resolve these issues as needed.
- Collecting, analyzing and sharing market information (public procurements, competitors, business partners).
- Understand and know clinical environment per disease state, competitor products - continuous development of knowledge
- Support commercial marketing organization with launch and rollout of new products and services as needed.
- Participate in industry symposia, medical meetings, and monitoring the industry landscape
- Participate in commercial activities with non-clinical stakeholders
- Facilitates Customer User Group Meetings and VIP Visits.
- Develops and maintains a database of studies, accounts, and scenarios which capture and highlight the impact of the Cepheid solution.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education or Experience (in years)**:
- Bachelor’s degree in (Business or Life Sciences) with 3+ years of related work experience OR
- Master’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR
**Knowledge and skills**:
- Clinical/Medical background with relevant experience
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals and objectives
- Strong computer skills (Office, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with customer base and build relationships
- High level of energy, engagement and responsibility
- Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN principles, diagnostic workflow, process improvement, and laboratory optimization
- Successful experience preparing and presenting business case justifications demonstrating quality impact and economic opportunities.
- Effectively communicates healthcare economic information and the downstream value of laboratory testing including the impact to patient, clinicians, staff, and facility.
- Presents technical information in a concise manner and appropriately responds to questions from employees, Executives, executive management, vendors, or customers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time/priorities
- Ability to adapt ad react to dynamic and changing circumstances in the market
- Able to work as a member of a multifunctional team, strong interpersonal communication, organizational skills and planning ability.
- Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Strong presentation skills
**Physical requirements/abilities**:
- 60% travel is required
**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (optional)**:
- Successful experience in selling large capital and/or clinical diagnostic systems in a diagnostic arena and/or previous capital equipment marketing experience.
- Previous healthcare consulting experience
- Knowledge of real time PCR reagents and instruments
