Safety Officer

Job Responsibilities: Safety Officer - Construction Site (Gas Plant)
- **Site Safety Management**:

- Ensure the construction site complies with all safety regulations, standards, and local laws.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure that all safety practices are being followed.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- **Safety Training & Inductions**:

- Organize and conduct safety training programs and inductions for all personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Ensure that all workers are familiar with emergency procedures, safe work practices, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
- **Incident Investigation and Reporting**:

- Lead investigations for any accidents, incidents, or near misses on the construction site.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- **Emergency Preparedness**:

- Develop and update emergency response plans, ensuring all workers know their roles in case of an emergency.
- Conduct regular drills (fire, gas leak, evacuation) and evaluate the effectiveness of response times and procedures.
- **Compliance Monitoring**:

- Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, local government regulations, and gas plant-specific safety standards.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant safety laws, regulations, and best practices related to construction and gas plant environments.
- **PPE Management**:

- Ensure that all workers are provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitor its use.
- Ensure that PPE is in good condition and replaced as needed.
- **Safety Audits and Inspections**:

- Conduct regular site inspections to check for potential hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform audits on construction processes, equipment, and machinery to ensure that all meet safety standards.
- **Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment**:

- Identify and assess potential safety risks related to gas plant construction activities (e.g., working with hazardous materials, high-pressure equipment).
- Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- **Safety Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training programs, safety meetings, and accident reports.
- Prepare and submit weekly or monthly safety reports to site management, highlighting any concerns or areas for improvement.
- **Safety Meetings & Communication**:

- Lead daily or weekly safety meetings to discuss potential risks, safety issues, and lessons learned.
- Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns between workers and management.
- **Coordination with External Agencies**:

- Liaise with local authorities, fire departments, and emergency medical services to ensure coordinated efforts in case of incidents.
- Work closely with other project teams to ensure safety compliance is maintained across different work areas.
- **Subcontractor Safety Oversight**:

- Ensure that subcontractors adhere to the same safety standards and procedures as the main construction team.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and hold regular safety meetings with them.
- **Waste Management & Environmental Safety**:

- Ensure the safe disposal of construction waste and hazardous materials per environmental and safety guidelines.
- Monitor air quality, noise levels, and other environmental factors to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing safety protocols and suggesting updates based on new best practices, incident reports, or regulatory changes.
- Encourage open communication on safety issues to foster a safety-first environment across the entire construction site.
- **Accident and Injury Prevention**:

- Implement proactive measures to reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries on site.
- Provide guidance on ergonomics, proper lifting techniques, and safe handling of tools and machinery.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
