Job Title : Mongo DB Developer (with Admin)

**About the job**:
We are seeking a talented Database Developer to design, implement, and manage high-performing MongoDB databases. In this role, you will be responsible for database optimization, troubleshooting, migration strategies, and ensuring the integrity and availability of our data infrastructure. You will also manage and monitor databases using tools like Ops Manager and cloud-based services such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Redis.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement, and optimize MongoDB databases to meet scalability, performance, and cost optimization goals.
- Monitor and manage the performance of databases using tools like Ops Manager and ensure cost optimization for cloud-based databases.
- Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, availability, and security to minimize downtime and improve database reliability.
- Manage backup and restore operations, ensuring data protection and smooth recovery during system failures.
- Promote database objects (collections, indexes, etc.) across different environments such as dev, test, and production.
- Implement sharding strategies for large-scale MongoDB deployments to enhance data distribution and availability.
- Conduct regular housekeeping tasks to ensure data consistency and optimal database performance.
- Lead data migration efforts, including migrations from MongoDB to Spanner/PostgreSQL or other database systems.
- Work with cloud-native databases and services such as GCP Console, Spanner, Bigtable, BigQuery, and Redis to ensure seamless integration and scalability.
- Ensure the smooth execution of data migrations between systems and databases while minimizing downtime.

**Must-Have Skills**:

- MongoDB - Strong experience in the administration, performance tuning, and optimization of MongoDB databases.
- Monitoring - Expertise in monitoring database performance, including using Ops Manager and cloud-based solutions.
- Cost optimization - Experience with cost-effective database architecture and management in cloud environments.
- Troubleshooting - Ability to quickly identify and resolve performance issues and ensure database availability.
- Experience with backup and restore strategies and ensuring data recovery capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with sharding in MongoDB for managing large-scale data deployments.
- Knowledge of data migration techniques, particularly between MongoDB and PostgreSQL/Spanner.
- Proficiency with Redis and experience with its database architecture and migration strategies.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including GCP Console, Spanner, Bigtable, and BigQuery for cloud database management.
- Expertise in database objects promotions across environments (development, staging, production).
- Flexible to work in Shift A (04:30 AM - 12:30 PM) or Shift B (12:30 PM - 09:30 PM).

**Good-to-Have Skills**:

- Proficiency in Shell scripting to automate database-related tasks and troubleshooting processes.
- Experience with automation tools like Python or Ansible to automate deployment and management of database systems.
- Familiarity with other cloud-native databases and database management services in the GCP ecosystem.
