The primary role of Global Internal Audit (GIA) is to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the HSBC Group. GIA provides independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the Group’s framework of risk management, control and governance processes. GIA possesses specialized capabilities and skills through its versatile, inquisitive, and diverse team of global professionals.

**Role purpose**

We are currently seeking an individual to join our team in the role of **Internal Auditor - Analytics** **to deliver assigned work, and where applicable, lead the design and delivery of data analytics and process mining output to support audit. The Internal Auditor - Analytics will:

- Be a proactive team player, who leads by example and works constructively across GIA.
- Deliver quality work within the given timeframes, standards, methodology, budget, and best practices.
- Confirm accuracy of work and make sure that outputs are clearly understood and documented

**Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders**

**Expertise**
- Keen willingness to continually develop technical data analytics and process mining skills
- Seek new and innovative ways to automate or digitalise audit work
- Develop their knowledge of data sources, structures, meta-data, etc. existing in select Lines of Business or Functions and regions for possible use by the Audit teams;
- Design, build, and deliver data analytics, process mining and other digital solutions to meet the needs of Audit;
- Follow an agile, iterative, adaptive approach during the development/delivery of audit technology solutions to meet the timely needs of Audit and add the most value;
**Area of Impact**
- The geographical remit of the role is global

Requirements

**Background and Education**

**Functional Knowledge & Experience**
- 1 - 2 years relevant work experience in the Financial Services Sector, consultancy, and external audit will be considered, but is not essential.
- Basic knowledge or experience with some or all of the following: python, SQL, SAS, Qlik, Celonis, KNIME and other analytics tools and languages.
- Relevant accounting, data analytics, programming, quantitative, technology skills, qualifications or certifications.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics/statistics.
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel.
- Team player who is highly professional.

- Resourcefulness navigating IT and business practices across the company to keep initiatives and efforts on plan;
