Position Summary:

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ø Responsible for managing assigned AIX staff.

Ø Manages the monitoring of availability, performance, and capacity of AIX platforms.

Ø Establish partnerships with peers across department, act as a single team & Participate in meetings with technical staff to discuss issues and strategies.

Ø Responsible for compliance with banks internal security policies and external regulatory guidelines.

Ø Collaborates with Information Security team to ensure adherence to security standards and procedures.

Ø Owns all AIX / VIOS /HA platform services and ensures adequacy of and adherence to SLA’s.

Ø Manages UNIX platform like AIX, HACMP & VIOS.

Ø Ensures that Life Cycle management is executed according to technology standards.

Ø Ensures selection & standardization of platforms which follow Architecture and Security standards and requirements.

Ø Works toward automation, repeatability, and standardization of processes as well improve existing automation to monitor baseline on new instances & Identifies continuous improvement.

Ø Ensures organization readiness and participation in all necessary disaster recovery activities.

Ø Collaborates with Architecture and the PMO to perform demand planning and ensure proper allocation of budgets, resources and timelines to complete all scheduled projects.

Ø Manage planning and strategy with business stakeholders, line-of-business operations staff.

Ø Monitors quality implementation of designed installation from design through testing and release into the production environment.

Ø L-PAR creation and VIOS installation.

Ø VG, LV and File system creation.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
Ø 12 to 14 years of IT experience with focus on large integrations. Preferred experience in banking domain.

Ø 5+ years' managing IT personnel, systems, and platforms.

Ø Should have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ø Excellent organization and planning, proven management/supervisory, and communication skills.

Ø Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities and comfort with ambiguity.

Ø Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Ø Ability to set and manage priorities independently.

Ø Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills.

Ø Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees.

Ø Expert in leading teams and managing UNIX systems and should be doing effective Project Management

Ø Virtualization Knowledge in AIX environment. Sound Knowledge in AIX Operating system. Knowledge of IBM Cluster.

Ø Should have AIX 6.1/7.1/7.2 knowledge.

Ø Should have AIX HACMP cluster configuration.

Ø Should have knowledge of HMC console, AIX cluster knowledge.

Ø Able to handle most of basic to advanced calls in User, group management, system start-up, service modification, crontab entries, ACL modifications, file system management, root & ignite backups.

Ø Experience in Server Management, Backup, with the help of the tool provided. Any proactive monitoring tools i.e., open view, Tivoli, Big-brother, Data Protector Etc will be added Advantage.

Ø Should have knowledge in shell scripting, pearl scripting, python knowledge.

Ø Should have sound knowledge in performance tuning, troubleshooting issues.

Ø Should have used any backup management software i.e. Legato, Net backup, TSM, VERITAS, Omni backup etc.

Ø Preferred Certification in AIX/VIOS/HACMP
