Job Description

Consultant - Carries out Unix administration activities including Health checks, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Query and Service Level Management activities;

Act as first level of escalation for Unix operation related matters.

Assist L2 support team in case any challenge /issue reported during execution of Unix operation task during incident and change.

Supervises and gives instruction to less experienced colleagues in all aspects of current and correct operational practice.

Prepare ROTA and workplan for L1 and L2 pool to ensure 24/7 coverage of Unix operation team

Preferred candidate profile

- 6 to 9 years primarily as in AIX Administration and secondary skill as Linux Non-IT experience: 1 3 years Diploma or Bachelor's in Engineering,Computer Science, Commerce. Areas Knowledge/skills required (as defined in the GCM model)
- Mandatory skills: Primary - AIX,VIO,NIM,IBM P9/P10 Hardware and Cluster knowledge. Secondary: Linux Certification: IBM AIX7 ,VIO
- Troubleshooting and investigative approach to problem solving.
- ITIL Process knowledge on Incident, Change and Problem Management.
- Prior experience with International customers Personal attributes/competencies required: Understanding the needs of customer and keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions.
- Communicates effectively by word of mouth and in writing (in formal and informal conditions) Applies quality standards to all tasks undertaken and ensuring that nothing is overlooked.
