Job Description:An AIX admin is responsible for managing and maintaining AIX systemsAn AIX administrator is responsible for the installation configuration maintenance and troubleshooting of systems running AIX OSEnsuring the high availability of AIX operating systemKey Responsibilities:AIX Operating System engineering and certificationAIX System AdministratorStrong understanding of P6 P7 P8 P9 P10 PSeries hardware architecturesWork as part of project delivery team and provide end to end AIX server buildBuild AIX server requirements according to project specificationWork hand in hand with architect and capacity manager on AIX server capacity server provisioningPerforming system administration activities on AIX systemsConfiguring monitoring tuning and troubleshooting AIX Lpars and physical serversPowerVM Power Firmware and HMC engineering and certificationPowerHA and GPFS engineering and certificationCertification and Engineering of associated Systems Management agents tools etcConsulting and Design activities related to LoB managed IBM POWER systems solutionsProvide AIX operating systems support and ensure maximum performance and uptime for all AIX serversAnalyze issues related to AIX and supporting softwareCoordinate and support deployment of AIX supporting software and application related software upgrades patchesMaintain infrastructure software GPFS PowerHA AIX 61 71 and later VIOS PowerVMResponsible for installing and managing IBM AIX systemsAssist with the development of standards guidelines and policies related to the design and architecture of Unix AIX solutionsWorking with customers to troubleshoot incidents and escalate with L2 support if when neededExperience in installing of VIO Server Client LPAR DLPAR and installation of AIX through NIM ServerProvide on job training coaching when requiredRequires participation in an on call rotationTake problem resolution ownership and facilitate technical bridge during operational disruption in service or service outagesMonitor events customer support calls in the call tracking system return calls from customers enter new incidents or requests into ServiceNowExperience in File Systems Processes Performance tuning and troubleshootingManage VIO Hardware Management ConsoleExperience in system recovery using mksysb image using NIM server and Disaster RecoveryExperience in PowerVM of l virtualization services like Shared Ethernet Adapter SEA NPIV configuration virtual SCSI services to multiple VIO servers client partitionsknowledge of UNIX Shell Scripting to include PerlAdditional Responsibilities:Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience as AIX adminPreferred Skills:Unix Admin->AIX Administration,Technology->Open System->AIX,Technology->Server-OperatingSystemAdministration->AIX - OperatingSystemAdministration,Technology->Infrastructure - Operating Systems AIX/HP Unix/Unix->Operating Systems AIX/HP Unix/Unix,Technology->Infrastructure-Server Administration->Unix Server administration (HP-UX,IBM-AIX, Sun Solaris, Redhat Linux),Technology->Infrastructure-Server Administration->AIX server Administration
