Job Title: Billing & BOQ Engineer

Location: Indore

Reporting To: Project Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
1. BOQ Preparation and Management:
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for building construction projects based on architectural and structural drawings.

Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate BOQs.

Ensure BOQs are aligned with project requirements and industry standards.

2. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.

Assist in budget preparation and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.

Conduct rate analysis for various construction items.

3. Billing and Invoicing:
Prepare and submit interim and final bills to clients and contractors.

Verify and certify contractor bills and ensure compliance with contractual terms.

Track and reconcile payments, variations, and claims.

4. Quantity Surveying:
Conduct on-site measurements and verify quantities of work done.

Prepare monthly progress reports and quantity statements.

Monitor and report on material consumption and wastage.

5. Contract Management:
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.

Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with BOQ and project specifications.

Handle variations, change orders, and claims in accordance with contract terms.

6. Coordination and Reporting:
Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate billing and BOQ preparation.

Provide regular updates on project costs, billing status, and financial performance.

Maintain proper documentation and records for all billing and BOQ-related activities.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Experience: [Specify years, e.g., 3-5 years] of experience in billing, BOQ preparation, and quantity surveying for building construction projects.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and construction software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or similar).

Strong knowledge of IS codes, CPWD, DSR, and other relevant standards.

Familiarity with ERP systems for billing and project management.

Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management.

Experience working with government or private construction projects in India.

Knowledge of GST and other taxation laws related to construction billing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Accuracy and timeliness of BOQ preparation.

Adherence to project budgets and cost control measures.

Timely submission and approval of bills.

Reduction in billing discrepancies and disputes.
