**Job Description**:
Backup Recovery Administrator

"Perform Backup and Recovery of Customer's Data in a Distributed

Environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Investigate Missed/Failed backups

2. Monitor Miss/Fail of Backup Application scheduled Backups

Perform Backup Server Health check

3. Restart failed backups

4. Restore/Recover Data

5. Perform tape management activities

6. Schedule backups via Backup Server

7. Perform On-Demand Backup

8. Configure/test /install BUR Software - Backup Client

9. Add client/node

10. Decommission/un-schedule client/node

11. Verify Security posture

12. Maintain Documentation; Restore Standards, Policies, Procedure

13. Resolve Miss/Fail Backup ? Server\

14. Resolve Miss/Fail Backup ? Client

15. Troubleshoot Tape drive/library

16. Investigate/resolve transactional/archive log failures

17. Perform BUR Library Maintenance/ Fix/Management

18. Troubleshoot storage performance issues

19. Troubleshoot storage capacity issues

20. Initialize BUR Tape Media Volumes

21. Configure/Test BUR Storage

22. Configure/test /install BUR Software - Backup Server

23. Create/Update Backup Application client Config files

24. Decommission client/node

25. Add advanced backup Infrastructure server (including client code)

26. Decommission backup Infrastructure server

27. Implement Security posture

28. Perform library media audit

29. Manage DR (Disaster Recovery) Steady State/Checks

30. Participate in basic (primarily tape) DR (Disaster Recovery) Exercise (Test)

31. Plan new releases of BUR (Backup and Restores) software

32. Perform ID management

33. Configure /maintain reports for Backup Application scheduled backups

34. Create, Implement, and Manage Scripts

35. Perform general administration activities in support of backups

36. Sound knowledge on Storage pool containers, Node Replication and Protect Storage pools

37. Good knowledge on Data protection for VMWare

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
1. IBM Spectrum Protect (Tivoli Storage Manager) 5.x, 6.x, 7.x and 8.x

2. Demonstrated knowledge of effective backup procedures for systems and data

3. Good knowledge with Linux and Windows server operating systems

4. Good knowledge of VMware and other Hypervisor hosts and cluster architecture in order to verify backups and storage migrations plans.

5. Familiarity with SAN and NAS

6. Familiarity with cloud storage concepts

7. Tivoli Data Protection Agent TDP (Virtual Environments, Oracle, DB2, Microsoft Exchange and SQL)

8. Good knowledge on maintenance of Physical & VTL Libraries, including all elements of Dell EMC Data Domain configuration and operations.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
1. Experience in developing backup scripts for various backup activities

2. Work experience on other backup software systems

3. Experience in Unix environments

4. Familiarity with ANSIBLE
