Principal - Scrum Master

**Job Title - Principal - Scrum Master**

The Workplace Investments (WI) technology team is looking for an outstanding Scrum Master to collaborate and deliver top quality scalable systems.

**The Purpose of This Role**

You will be playing a Scrum Master role with in the Investment Services product area in WI for 2-3 scrum teams. You will work closely with the Squads, Squad Leaders, Product Area and Chapter Leads to build and deliver high value products. This role requires knowing the scrum principles and being a strong communicator and doer.

- Meet the service expectations stated below towards Squad Leaders, Squad and to the organization
- Define the mínimal viable product working with the product area and coordinate with the squad for timely delivery
- Remove impediments for and with the team approaching the appropriate contacts and processes
- Collaborate with other scrum masters to improve the efficiency in scrum adoption in the organization

**Technical / Behavioral**
- An upbeat agile proponent and practitioner, passionate about inspiring teams on Agile Values and Principles, and redefining the teams towards building a frictionless organization.
- Familiar with software engineering practices and ways of working that are commonly adopted by teams practicing agile, such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Lean etc
- Working knowledge in any of the enterprise agile collaboration tools, such as Jira, is an added advantage
- Familiarity or experience with any of the models that are widely used in scaling agile within a large business unit or enterprise
- Attention to detail and ability to lead 2-3 scrum teams
- Communicate effectively and influence the stakeholders

**SCRUM MASTER SERVICE TO THE SQUAD LEADER**
- Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the squad as much as possible.
- Finding techniques for effective squad backlog management.
- Helping the squad understand the need for clear and concise backlog items
- Working with the squad leader to arrange the backlog to maximize value

**SCRUM MASTER SERVICE TO THE SQUAD**
- Coaching the squad in self-organization and cross-functionality
- Helping the squad to define the stories and create high-value products
- Identification and Removing impediments to the squad’s progress
- Facilitating Scrum events as required, requested or needed
- Coaching the squad in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood

**SCRUM MASTER SERVICE TO THE ORGANIZATION**
- Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption
- Planning Scrum implementations within the organization
- Maintain trusted relationships with business partners
- Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development, continuous improvement.

**The Expertise We’re Looking For**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology, Information Systems
- 10+ years of Financial IT industry experience
- 3+ years in Scrum master role either in SAFE or Spotify models
- Strong team player that thrives in a collaborative environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Quick learner and a great team player
- Experience in the financial services industry, preferably in the Mutual Fund environment, is a plus.
- It is desirable to have a Scrum Master Certification

**Salary Grade : 6**

**Location : Chennai**

**Shift timings: 11:00 am - 8:00pm**
